Well just finished up another week here in Paraguay and things went pretty good. We found a lot of new people to teach and lost a few. We get so close with some of these people and they feel the spirit during the lesson and commit to be baptized but then you turn to things like going to church every week and some of the commandments we need to keep and that’s where they start to stray away. We found this 17 year old kid walking in the street the other night named David and we asked if we could run by his house right then and teach him a little so he let us in. We taught the first lesson and he really loved it, he said he would read the Book of Mormon so we went back the next night and to teach him and his 19 year old brother was there and he wanted to learn too. So we taught them both that next night and it went so great they both committed to be baptized and we set a date.. After that we invited them to church that Sunday and they both said they worked on Sunday... bummer. Here in the mission you have to attend church 3 times before you are baptized, so we had to move the date and they both said they would talk to their boss to see if they could have work off on Sundays. Saturday night we had a baptism for a little 8 year old girl in the ward and we invited David, he came and he loved it and said he was way excited for his day and that he wanted to do everything he can to get there.
One sad thing about this country is a lot of people that live out in the country side send their kids to the city to work, so David and his brother Andres are here alone living in a tiny 1 bedroom place with one bed to send money back to their parents and try and start a life. So yeah, other than that we have had some really great things happen and other things happen that we didn´t expect but we are workin hard every day and doing the things that we need to do. It hasn´t been that hot here this week, I mean it’s hot but I talked to some senior missionaries yesterday and they said here in a month or two it will be about 125 everyday with humidity, like what the heck ha-ha so yeah lookin forward to that.
We have to work a lot with the ward to get them involved in the work cause it’s so important to have member support with your investigators, our lessons with members fall through everyday but we are finding new ways that we know will work. Can’t wait to see what this week brings... baptisms and more baptisms hopefully. Family I love you so much and I hope you have a great week. Oh and I experienced my first Paraguay rainstorm it was nuts, the streets filled with water in about 10 minutes, pretty crazy stuff.
